Marriage licenses are available in Anderson County by appointment only (to make an appointment call 903-723-7465). 

In order to successfully apply for a marriage license in Anderson County, the following items are required: 

• Both applicants must be present

• Each applicant must show proof of identity (Driver's License, State Identification card)

• Both applicants must verbalize the oath printed on the application and sign the application before the county clerk

• Pay $82 marriage license fee (CASH ONLY)

• A completed marriage license application form

Couples that have completed a state-approved marriage class receive a $60 discount and waive the 72-hour waiting requirement to have a valid license.
