Marriage License Information

In order to successfully apply for a marriage license in Bowie County, the following items are required:

Valid photo ID such as driver’s license, military I.D. card, passport, etc.

Social Security Number (SSN)

Pay $82 marriage license fee

The marriage license application should be filled out before coming to the office.

Note that marriage licenses are not issued after 4:00pm.

Note that the office is closed for lunch from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

Couples that have completed a state-approved marriage class receive a $60 discount and waive the 72-hour waiting requirement to have a valid license.
